Position Requirements

Hold the rank of Police Officer II or higher for a minimum of 28 consecutive days.

Possess no severe disciplinary action within the past 30 days; records are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Possess, or be actively obtaining, the Crime Scene Investigator qualification.

Demonstrate sufficient activity, motivation, and critical thinking to complete Detective School within the allotted timeframe.
—
Have prior experience in a Detective Bureau or Internal Affairs assignment, or demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, develop investigative skills, work within a team, and apply feedback from coordinators and senior detectives.

Have demonstrated experience completing administrative and investigatory work — including Crime Complaint Reports (CCRs), Death Investigation Reports (DIRs), and arrest reports. Selected submissions should emphasise quality over quantity.
